Looking at the different types of blinds

When it comes to decorating a home, blinds are becoming an increasingly popular choice both in terms of style and functionality. However, with so many different types of blinds to choose from, it can be difficult to know which style is best for each room. Don't worry, we're here to help.

Rollers or Roman?

There are many types of blinds and each one brings something different which could impact on your home in a wonderful way. Should you go for rollers, Roman, pleated, Venetians, verticals, honeycomb or panels? Let's take a look at each one in more detail.

Rollers

Roller blinds are exactly as the name implies - they roll up and down the window, only letting in as much light as you desire. Roller blinds are extremely flexible, as you can choose a variety of different colours, patterns and textures. You can even have a personal picture or design printed on a roller blind, giving it that special touch - the choice is yours!

Roman

Roman blinds are similar to roller blinds in that they lift up and down the window. However Roman blinds are more luxurious and are made of soft fabrics - perfect for bedrooms and living rooms.

Venetians

Venetian blinds are made of horizontal slats that can be rotated to allow more or less light to pass through. Available in a variety of different materials such as metal and wood, Venetian blinds are ideal for bathroom windows.

Vertical

Vertical blinds, also known as track blinds, are made of vertical slats that are attached together. These blinds can also be made of many different materials, such as fabric and aluminium and are great for hanging in sliding doors or large windows.

Pleated

Pleated blinds give maximum control of light and are available in both contemporary and traditional designs. Try them in your conservatory for their best look!

Honeycomb

Honeycomb blinds combine style with energy efficiency, trapping air inside the unique hexagonal double cell construction - a perfect defence against single glazed windows.

Panels

Panel blinds are fantastic for large windows and sliding doors, making a room feel vibrant and modern. You can even use them as room dividers.

Choosing your blind

As you can see, there are many different types of blinds and each of them has their own unique purposes. Keep in mind the size and shape of your window and be sure to match colours and styles and your blinds are sure to have a huge effect on your home!
