Spring cleaning: a how to guide

Do you ever notice how clutter in your house can really build up? Or a stain on the floor that you can’t remember how long has been there? Maybe it’s time for a spring clean!

Spring cleaning: a how to guide

The first step is to create a playlist. Yes, really! Music will keep you motivated and can take your mind off the boring tasks ahead of you.

Next, make sure that you have all the tools you need. If you're in the middle of cleaning the bathroom and realise that you need drain unblocker, you will need to pop out to the shop and this can disrupt your work flow. So be sure you have everything you need.

It's a good idea to tackle one room at a time. If you do bits in one room and bits in the next, it will seem like you're not making any real improvements and this can be very demotivating. If you focus on one room and do it thoroughly you will see results in no time. This will give you a sense of accomplishment and motivate you to go on to the next room.

Renting steam cleaning equipment can do wonders for your carpets. Vacuuming is fine, but spring cleaning is all about going the extra mile. A steam clean will make your carpets look like new again.

Try to get everyone involved. If everyone in the family pitches in (for example, the kids deep clean their own rooms), the task will be much quicker and dare we say it - more enjoyable.
